On Friday, April 15, 2016 the staff of Outback Steakhouse in Hickory treated Guardian ad Litem volunteers from Burke, Caldwell and Catawba counties to a delicious lunch of blooming onion, salad, and chicken or steak to honor them for their tireless work with abused and neglected children in the court system. These volunteers spend many hours advocating for these children, burn many gallons of gas driving to visit these children monthly, and take time away from their own families to make sure these children aren’t forgotten. Huge thanks go out to Michael Byrnes, Manager of Outback Steakhouse Hickory for this generous gift. NC Representative George Robinson spoke for a few minutes about the important work being done by these volunteers. Sydney Smith-District Administrator of the 25th District Guardian ad Litem Program presented a certificate to Outback Steakhouse for honoring these volunteers during Child Abuse Prevention Month.
